Follow these simple steps to implement Lend and Extend Reader's Theater™

1. Students read the story within their small multi-leveled classroom group one or more times thereby accomplishing Repeated Guided Oral Reading using higher level students in each group as the guides.

2. Teacher or Librarian splits a story pack by placing two book copies of the story into each of the three handled bags included along with a copy of the provided Parent Involvement Sheet in either English or Spanish.

3. Students are sent home with the take-home pack to engage their parents, siblings and other family members into reading aloud together. Three students per typical story kit can check out the take-home pack at a time. Then teachers rotate the packs to the next three students, and so on.

4. Easily sharing two books amongst four or more people, family members each take a role and read the story aloud together with creativity and expression. Students and their parents take a small activity quiz together that is signed by the parents and sent back to the school.
