Enter Your Students in Our Reader's Theater Writing Contest
Contestants should write a short Reader's Theater script portraying an aspect of the Haiti crisis. For example, they could show what they would say to children in Haiti who have been affected by the earthquake, or they could show the struggles that children in Haiti are going through as they try to move on after the disaster. Entries should be in Reader's Theater format with several character parts including a narrator role. The top 10 contestants will receive a free Sparkle Microphone Prop and the First Place winner will receive a $25 gift card for Toys R Us! Playbooks® will also match the prize value in a donation to UNICEF's Haiti earthquake relief fund. Entries will be judged based on creativity and message. Email your entries to info@playbooks.com or send by mail to: Playbooks, Inc. Please submit all entries by February 28, 2010! Help your students learn from the Haiti earthquake and improve their reading and writing skills at the same time! Remember to perform your students' Reader's Theater scripts in the classroom, in small groups or in front of the class, to gain the benefits of Repeated Guided Oral Reading! |
